Professor Delna N.S

Professor Delna N.S. is currently serving as the Head of the Department of MLT at Al-Azhar College of Allied Health Sciences, Kerala, India. She has over 11 years of teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Her academic and research interests include Microbiology, Immunology, Artificial Intelligence in Health, Modern Medicine, Pathology, and Pharmacology.

She has supervised more than 250 M.Sc. and B.Sc. students in their dissertation work and continues to mentor research scholars. She has published more than 30 research papers in national and international journals and conferences, and has been honoured with multiple Best Research Paper Awards. Five novel bacterial genomes studied and catalogued are credited to her name in GenBank, significantly contributing to microbial taxonomy and global genome research.

Her DHR-funded research on Diabetic Retinopathy was presented at the 59th Annual NAMSCON (National Academy of Medical Sciences Conference) held at AIIMS Bhopal in 2019 and continues to be displayed at ICMR Bhopal, highlighting its national significance.

She made significant contributions to the Tuberculosis Control Programme in India, in association with the National Reference Laboratory (NRL). Widely recognised for her commitment to student empowerment, she is actively involved in an organisation supported by the Madhya Pradesh Government dedicated to nurturing Indian students in science and technology. In addition, she serves as a Scientific Advisor and visiting faculty at BiodeskIndia Labs, where she guides biomedical research and mentors healthcare professionals worldwide.

She is the chief editor of several medical journals and serves as a reviewer for leading journals indexed in PubMed and Scopus. Her wide-ranging academic, research, and leadership contributions have established her as a recognised academician and researcher.
